Tyga

Tyga, born Micheal Ray Stevenson on November 19, 1989, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and actor who became one of the first major male music artists to launch an OnlyFans account. Born in Compton, California to a Jamaican father and a Vietnamese mother, Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen (1971–2025), he moved to nearby Gardena at around age 11. His stage name is a backronym for “Thank You God Always,” and he has also recorded as T-Raww. He has a diamond-certified single, a platinum debut album and a track record of leaving major platforms to build his own.

Tyga’s Rise to Fame

Tyga was discovered by Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, who held on to his demo, and signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment in 2008 through Cash Money and Republic. His major-label debut, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, arrived in 2012, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. It produced the top-ten hit “Rack City” and the top-40 single “Faded” with Lil Wayne.

He followed with Hotel California in 2013, the collaborative Fan of a Fan: The Album with Chris Brown in 2015, and The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty the same year, executive-produced by Kanye West. Later projects include BitchImTheShit2 in 2017, Kyoto in 2018 and Legendary in 2019. His commercial high point came in 2018 with “Taste” featuring Offset, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was later certified diamond by the RIAA — a rare achievement for an artist several albums into a career.

Tyga’s OnlyFans Career

Tyga joined OnlyFans early relative to his peers and was reported to have earned more than $7 million in his first year on the platform, making him one of the highest-earning male creators of that period. In August 2021 he deleted the account and launched Myystar, his own Ethereum-based creator platform, which promised a 10% fee and greater creator control. The move followed OnlyFans’ briefly announced plan to ban adult content, a decision the company reversed days later. The episode made him one of the most-cited examples of platform risk for creators who build revenue on a single service.

Tyga was briefly married to Jordan Craig from 2010 to 2011. He dated Blac Chyna from 2011 to 2014, and the couple have a son, King Cairo, born in 2012. He later dated Kylie Jenner from 2014 to 2017. He lives in Los Angeles, California.

Tyga has roughly 46 million Instagram followers and about 11.2 million on TikTok, along with active X and YouTube channels and an official website. That audience scale is the reason his OnlyFans launch drew industry attention: he was importing a mainstream music following into a subscription platform rather than growing one there.
