Ariel Versace

Ariel Versace, born Bryan Philip Neel on 13 April 1992 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is an American drag queen, wig designer and makeup artist who competed on season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2019. Her stage name combines the Disney character Ariel from The Little Mermaid with the fashion house Versace, and she describes her aesthetic as that of a “life-sized Bratz doll.” She runs the wig business Drag by Chariel and an OnlyFans account under the name Bryan Philip.

Who Is Ariel Versace?

Neel was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to Susan Neel, and is based in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area. She began performing in drag in 2013, building her reputation in the Philadelphia scene before national television.

Her signature look is deliberately hyper-stylised, with exaggerated proportions and doll-like makeup, which she has summarised as being a life-sized Bratz doll. That specificity of brand became her defining characteristic on and after Drag Race.

Ariel Versace’s Early Career

Before television, Versace worked as a makeup artist, including on the independent film Deadly Gamble in 2015. The technical makeup background fed directly into both her drag and her later wig business.

She won Philly Drag Wars All Stars 2, the local competition credential that preceded her national casting. Philadelphia has produced a number of Drag Race competitors, and the Drag Wars circuit is one of the city’s principal proving grounds.

Ariel Versace on RuPaul’s Drag Race

Versace was cast as one of fifteen queens on season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2019. She placed 11th, eliminated in the “Monster Ball” challenge in episode five, where she slipped and fell during her lip sync for your life — a moment that became one of the season’s most replayed clips.

She also appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked and on web series including Hey Qween!, Whatcha Packin’, Cosmo Drag Queens and Besties for Cash. Earlier in her season she drew criticism for a 9/11-themed performance, a subject she declined to discuss in a January 2019 Out interview.

Ariel Versace’s Music Releases

Versace released her debut single “Venomous” on 4 June 2019, following the standard post-Drag Race pattern of converting television exposure into recorded output. She followed it with “Coin” featuring Soju later in 2019 and “Joystick” in 2020.

The releases sit within the dance-pop template common among franchise alumni, supporting touring and club appearances rather than functioning as a standalone recording career.

Ariel Versace’s Wig Business and OnlyFans

She runs the wig business Drag by Chariel with her partner Chastity St. Cartier, supplying styled wigs to performers. The venture builds on her makeup artistry and gives her a product business independent of performance bookings.

Versace also operates an OnlyFans account, which Wikipedia notes she runs under the name Bryan Philip. Using an out-of-drag identity for the account separates the two brands, an approach also taken by Blair St. Clair, who uses the handle boystclair.

She has roughly 363,000 Instagram followers at @arielversace and approximately 30,300 TikTok followers at @arielversaceofficial. She also maintains an account on X at @arielversace and a YouTube channel.
